Do you find that drinks don’t get as much coverage when talking about past travels? Yet some of my fondest travel memories are drinks that I’ve tried, whether I had like them or not and where I was exactly when I drank it. Whether it be alcoholic, a delicious fruit smoothie or some sort of home brew.
Some drinks are hard to replicate back home due to limited ingredients or aren’t stocked in your home country. I’ve googled every mainstream liquor supermarket here to find Modelo beer but cannot find it! Perhaps that’s the beauty of drinks. They cannot be easily obtained at home and maybe by default leave such a positive impression in hindsight. The magic of travel is that you cannot bring it all back with you and maybe these happy moments are where they belong, scattered behind you where you once were.
Why not prepare a drink this month your own way that brings you back to a fond memory?

Actually, I am a huge fan of vacation drinks – I try to have a special one every holiday I take.
Even though I will not make it to London for the Christmas this year, my drink still be hot chocolate with marshmallows (it is hot in Singapore, but we will make do).
I also make sure I do some research and keep in mind to try drinks when travelling. Every weather is hot chocolate weather!

You are right, drinks don’t get as much coverage when talking about past travels. I’m thinking about a drink I had last Christmas in Mexico called Michelada, which calls for Victoria beer. It is one of the most popular beers people drink in San Luis Potosi. Unfortunately, I can’t find it in the U.S. so I have to use another beer to make Micheladas.
I have tried the Michelada! Not my thing though haha. I didn’t know it was only made with Victoria beer. Is that strange you cannot find it in the US? Can you find other Modelo beers there?
It can also be prepared with other light beers, but Victoria beer tastes the best. I guess I can try making it with another one and see what it tastes like 😊
